Three Syracuse men who were arrested in a $20.3 million gambling operation in Central New York three years ago are now accused of being involved in a gambling ring that racked up more than $50 million in bets between September 2006 and this March.

George Bedigian, 63, of North McBride Street; Salvatore Tumino, 70, of North Salina Street; and Michael LoSurdo, 41, of Lakeside Road, are accused of being involved in a $50 million Internet sports betting ring, according to the Albany Times Union.

The men were arrested Friday in the 800 block of North McBride Street.

Bedigian and Tumino declined to talk to a reporter from The Post-Standard late Saturday afternoon. A male who answered the door at Bedigian's home said Bedigian was meeting with his lawyer.

A woman who described herself as Tumino's daughter-in-law said Tumino did not want to talk to a reporter Saturday. LoSurdo could not be reached.

The Times Union identified Syracuse lawyer David Primo as Bedigian's defense lawyer. Primo did not immediately return a phone call early Saturday night.

Bedigian was named one of two ringleaders in the $50 million gambling operation, which stretched from Albany to Syracuse. Investigators are calling the bust one of the largest in the Capital Region. In all, 12 men and one woman were arrested.

According to the Times Union, Bedigian and LoSurdo were charged with enterprise corruption, the state's version of the federal racketeering law, while Tumino is facing fourth-degree money laundering.
