888.com Scoops the Pool at the Inaugural 2005 eGaming Awards

888.com stole the show at the eGaming Awards when they won the best online casino of the year and best overall online gaming operator of the year.

Being the first year of the awards, there was a lot of competition to be the first casino to win such a prestigious honor and in a gala black tie event before 500 guests, 888.com did just that.

Online casino (www.888.com) 888.com was judged to be the Best Casino Operator of the Year based on its “unparalleled reach and marketing effort in the casino sphere” as well as its “complete control of the value chain”. It was a visibly delighted Chairman of 888.com, Marie Stevens, who went up on stage to accept the award.

Stevens was back up there again to claim the main award of the night, which was for the best overall online gaming operator of the year. Competition was tough in this category with the likes of Ladbrokes, Party Gaming and William Hill all nominees.
