By Sunday evening, hotel and bar managers reported VLT action was relatively slow.

A bartender at the Norwood Hotel says if the Super Bowl wasn't on, there would be more people at the VLTs.

At the Lincoln Motor Hotel, Pond's Bar had a huge TV tuned to the NFL match between the New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers.

Only four players sat at a bank of lit-up VLTs covering the back wall of the bar.

The quartet said they're positive the gambling habit will catch on.

Lotteries Minister Scott Smith announced late last month that the province would lift the ban on playing VLTs on Sundays starting Feb. 1.
