LONDON, November 9 /PRNewswire/ -- 25 year-old Frenchman Antoine Saout has become the mostsuccessful French player ever to participate in the World Series of PokerMain Event.

Saout, from Brittany, the underdog of the 2009 WSOP Final, hadone of the best performances of all finalists losing a coin-flip handshowdown of pocket eights against Ace-King. A King on the river nettedAntoine just under $3.5 million in winnings for his third place title andentered him in the history books with the best ever performance by a Frenchplayer at a WSOP Main Event Final.

Antoine beat over 6,400 payers from around the world duringthe WSOP Main Event and became only the second Frenchman in history to be afinalist in the world's most important poker event. He played the WorldSeries of Poker for the first time in July 2009 after winning a ticket forthe event on a $50 satellite on Everest Poker.

2009 has been an outstanding year for Antoine. He startedplaying poker full-time just 18 months ago after leaving college toconcentrate on his poker skills. He is now being hailed as one of France'spoker legends and one of the country's most successful players in terms ofwinnings and performances at international tournaments reaching the finaltable of the WSOPE in London in September 2009 as well as cashing in half adozen major tournaments since reaching the final table of the WSOP in July.
