Be in to Win the €2 Million Guaranteed Irish Poker Open for $1
| 04 February 2007 |
Monday 5 February sees the fifth paddypowerpoker.com $1 shootout, where one player walks away with a €3,500 ticket to the 26th Irish Open 2007 held in Dublin over Easter weekend 2007.
While the online tournament can accommodate 999 players the two previous shootouts have fielded around 400 making this the 'path of least resistance' to the Irish Open 2007.
Players can now qualify in one of three ways:
Win a Grand Final seat daily at midnight, 2am, 2pm, 6pm & 10pm - buy-in $12 + $0.60 (rebuy) (additionally at noon each Saturday and Sunday)
Buy in directly to a Grand Final for $198 + $9.90 every Sunday at 9 p.m. (rebuy)
Win a $1 (10c registration fee) Shootout Tournament on the 1st Monday of every month at 8pm.
Live satellites in card clubs and casinos around the world will be announced in the coming months.
This year's event, which will be filmed for TV*, is the biggest in Europe with a €2 million guaranteed prize pool and a capacity for 700 players paying €3,300 (+€200 reg) to play over Easter Weekend 2007 against the best players in the world.
What sets the Irish Open apart from other poker tournaments is its historic legacy, unique atmosphere, famous Irish hospitality, and legendary reputation for camaraderie and 'craic'.
Last year, Dubliner Vincent Melinn won the €350,000 first prize in only his second ever live tournament and the final table was broadcast live across Europe -- a world's first.
This year the event doubles in size.
