Betex Group Enters China's Welfare Lottery Sector in Nanjing

LONDON, January 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Betex Group plc announces that its Chinese operation has signed anexclusive 5-year contract with Nanjing Welfare Lottery Management Centre tolaunch and operate a new retail lottery concept across Nanjing, the capitalof Jiangsu Province. Betex already has established Sport Lottery contracts inHebei, Guizhou and Guangdong.
The new agreement allows the Company to promote and sell all WelfareLottery products from kiosk-style point-of-sale outlets in high footfalllocations including supermarkets. Products include traditional computerisedlottery games, scratchcards and high-frequency draws. Commencing in earlyFebruary, the Company will initially operate 20 Betex and Welfare Lotteryco-branded kiosks for six months before extending the retail estate to 150 bythe end of 2010.
Betex has also signed distribution agreements with a number of premierretail brand outlets in Nanjing, which will allow the Company to site kioskswithin selected high-footfall stores throughout the licence period.
