Amateur Poker Tour organizers will unveil a 12-city American tour Saturday in Wichita to support wounded and disabled Iraq and Afghanistan veterans.

First stop in the tour will be Dec. 10 and 11 at Century II's Bob Brown Expo Hall, says former Wichita Mayor Bob Knight, one of the tour principals. Participants can play for $40, with proceeds going to the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes.

The tour will be announced during an 11 a.m. Saturday press conference at the Century II Convention Center, 225 W. Douglas. Knight and J.R. Martinez, an Iraq veteran from Decatur, Ga., will appear at the press conference.

The tour wants to include a stop in Baghdad, Iraq, on July 4, 2006, Knight says, with American servicemen as the players. It will conclude in late 2006 at the Foxwoods casino in Mashantucket, Conn.
