City of Hollywood, Greater Hollywood Chamber to Present Florida Gaming Summit
| 23 September 2009 |
HOLLYWOOD, Fla., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The City of Hollywood and the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will be presenting sponsors of the fifth annual Florida Gaming Summit, which takes place October 19-20 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
"The City of Hollywood and the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce are behind the gaming industry 110 percent," said prominent gaming attorney Alan Koslow, President-Elect of the Chamber and a partner with Becker & Poliakoff, P.A. "The business of gaming is good for business -- one bright line in an otherwise down economy. It enhances tourism and is a whole new industry that feeds many industries, creating business for other businesses.
"This is the perfect year to attend the Florida Gaming Summit," added Koslow. "The gaming industry is booming because of the recent compact signed by the Governor and the Seminole Tribe and recent legislation approving expanded gaming products at South Florida parimutuel facilities."
Hollywood and South Broward County are home to five gaming properties: Seminole Hard Rock, Seminole Casino Hollywood, Mardi Gras Gaming, Gulfstream Park and Dania Jai-Alai. Businesses in the area also benefit from The Isle Casino and Racing at Pompano Park in the northern part of the county.
The Florida Gaming Summit kicks off on October 19 with a welcome reception, featuring remarks from Beth Kroll, current President of the Greater Hollywood Chamber, and Peter Bober, Mayor of Hollywood.
The next morning, the intensive daylong conference program gets underway with an expert speaker lineup led by keynote speakers James F. Allen, Chief Executive Officer, Gaming Operations for the Seminole Tribe of Florida, and Virginia McDowell, President and Chief Operating Officer of Isle of Capri Casinos.
Complete conference details and registration information are available at www.floridagamingsummit.com.
Regular sponsors include Bally Technologies, Becker & Poliakoff, Energenic, Casino Career Institute, International Game Technology, Sunshine State Casino Advertising and WMS. Media sponsors include Casino Journal, Gaming Industry Observer and Poker Pro Magazine. For sponsorship information, contact Lesley Grashow at grashowl@bnpgaming.com.
