Cost2Drive.com Surpasses One Million Users, Relaunches With New Trip Planning Tools for Summer Travel

Among the many new features that are included on the upgraded Cost2Drive.com site, the ability to add multiple stops to a route is sure to thrill many users. After inputting a starting point and a destination, a user can now add stops along the way. This simplifies the process of calculating the total amount that will need to be spent on fuel during a road trip. Users can input unique destinations, or they can calculate cost for round trips with different stops in between.
A relationship with TripAdvisor is behind another one of the new features of the Cost2Drive.com site. Top hotels, restaurants and attractions for a specified destination will now be displayed. "This is another way to help people plan their trips in advance," says Kovarik. " Through this partnership with the world's largest travel site*, we aim to provide even more valuable trip planning features, and research has shown that TripAdvisor's content is highly trusted by travelers."
Another feature C2G is launching as part of its new website enhancements is a road trip planner for popular destinations. These planners include maps and destination content from TripAdvisor, as well as the ability to calculate the cost to drive to various popular destinations. Categories include national parks, beaches, zoos, major cities and theme parks. This option is useful for people who want to get a basic idea about how much it will cost to travel to popular destinations across the United States. "It's a fun feature," says Kovarik. "It's also a great way for people to come up with new ideas for vacation destinations."
In addition to the updates that have been highlighted above, the new Cost2Drive site features an improved design that includes larger, easier-to-read maps. "The design of the site has been cleaned up and improved," says Petar Canic, the creative director and co-founder of C2G. "We based the new design on user input, and we are confident that people will find it easier and more intuitive to use. The larger maps will make it easier for people to plan their routes and to find the cheapest places to fuel up too."
The upgrades coincide with a few additional pieces of exciting news. Cost2Drive recently surpassed the one-million-user mark as visits to the site during spring break 2012 tripled over 2011. In addition to that, C2G is making the Cost2Drive iPhone application free beginning today through Memorial Day weekend saving travelers the $1.99 retail price.
