FHM Magazine Counts The Utopian Society Star, Malin Akerman, Amongst their 100 Sexiest Women in the World for 2006
"The Utopian Society" movie, centers around Six College students from diverse backgrounds that are thrown together on a final project to create a "Utopian Society" on paper. they can't stand each other but as they break through their own walls they discover that it's really their differences and secrets that bind them together. Comedy/Drama.The film has been compared to "The Breakfast Club" by audiences around the country. Renowned Director, James Foley(Confidence, Glengarry Glen Ross) who viewed it in Phoenix, said "It had evoked the same emotions he felt the first time he saw "American Graffiti." "The Utopian Society" has a fresh young cast featuring: Austin Nichols and Malin Akerman. Austin has recently been seen starring opposite Jake Gylenhaal in Roland Emmerich's Mega-Film "The Day After Tomorrow" along with starring roles in "Wimbledon, Glory Road, House of Usher and Lenexa One Mile." Malin Akerman has recently been seen as the hot young blond seductress in "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle" as well as just wrapping up a co starring role opposite Nicole Kidman in "The Visiting.""Our film has made the rounds at festivals (40+) nationwide and has been received positively at each one". Director John Aguirre said, "I'm not surprised we got a release on the film, the actors were great, their performances were real and sincere and I think anyone who's been to college walks out of the film knowing a bit of each of the characters from their own college experience. It's like everyone on the screen was someone they went to school with and already knows".
