Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods Report April Slot Results

Foxwoods 5 Five Star(R) Service, Paired with All-New Entertainment and Dining Options, Enable Resort to Continue Outpacing the Market
MASHANTUCKET, Conn., May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods today reported to the Connecticut State Division of Special Revenue that the property took in a net gain of $57.5 million in slot machine gaming revenue. This amount represents a nominal decrease of 0.8 percent in slot win and an increase of 1.3% in total slot handle compared to April of 2008, bucking the trend in the casino industry as a whole. The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, the casino's owner, also reported a $14.3 million payment to the State of Connecticut for April of 2009. This contribution increases the total dollar amount given to the State of Connecticut to more than $2.93 billion since January of 1993, when slot machines were first introduced at Foxwoods.

The results report comes on the heels of bold new initiatives at Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods.
