Full Tilt Poker pro Richard Ashby has won Event #21 at the 2010 WorldSeries of Poker*, collecting his first WSOP bracelet and more than $140K inprize money.

The London-born player turned pro in 2003 and has never looked backsince. Primarily a ring-game player, Ashby is drawn to the thrills ofhigh-stakes games, especially short-handed Pot-Limit Hold 'em. Despitefocusing on cash games, he has racked up some impressive results on the livetournament circuit, including eight World Series of Poker cashes.

Event #21 was a $1,500 Seven-Card Stud tournament that attracted a fieldof 408 players. Ashby went to the final table third in chips and slowly builtup his stack. During heads-up play against Christine Pietsch, Ashby took acommanding lead, leaving her extremely short stacked for the remainder of thegame.

In the final hand, Pietsch bet out on fourth street with a pair of tens,and then pushed all in after a raise from Ashby. Ashby showed two pair andPietsch's hand failed to improve, giving Ashby his first bracelet. He is thethird British player to take home a bracelet this summer, joining fellow FullTilt Poker pro Praz Bansi in victory. The $140,467 payday brings his careertournament earnings to over $800,000.
