Full Tilt Poker's Huck Seed Wins WSOP* Tournament of Champions

DUBLIN, July 7, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Full Tilt Poker pro Huck Seed won the Tournament of Champions at the 2010World Series of Poker. The four-time WSOP bracelet winner scooped the firstprize of $500,000, edging out Team Full Tilt's Howard Lederer for the topprize.
The Tournament of Champions made a return to the WSOP following athree-year absence. The public were invited to vote for their favorite WSOPbracelet winners, with the top 20 candidates receiving the most votesqualifying for the tournament. Previous Tournament of Champions winners andWSOP Main Event champions also qualified automatically, along with twosponsor exemptions.
The 27-person tournament began on June 27th, featuring short sessionswhich allowed the competitors to compete in the other WSOP* events. Full TiltPoker was represented by nine players including Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson andAllen Cunningham.
The event was played intermittently over eight days, needing a marathon16-hour final session to play to a conclusion. The last day began with 17players, which played down to an all-Full Tilt Poker final two in Seed andHoward Lederer. Lederer began heads-up play holding a chip lead of 468K to342K. At one stage Lederer was just one card away from winning, when he ledafter the flop with all of Seed's chips in the pot. However, Seed came frombehind on the river to hit a straight and double up into the lead.
Seed was never behind again and the final hand saw Lederer move all inwith Q-8 which was called with A-2. The board ran 7-6-6-9-A to give Seed thefirst prize check of $500,000 and the title of "Champion of Champions".
