A professional gambler has sold everything he owns to bet it all on a single spin of a roulette wheel.

Ashley Revell, 32, from London, will bet £75,000 on red or black in a Las Vegas casino after selling all his possessions, including his clothes.

He will double his money if he wins but will be left with nothing if he loses.

Mr Revell, whose spin at the Hard Rock casino will be broadcast live on Sky television on Sunday night, said he "likes to do things properly".

Mr Revell, who plays poker for a living, has been gambling with $3,000 in Las Vegas this week in an attempt to raise his pot for Sunday.

By Wednesday he had lost $1,000.

He said he was disappointed with his £75,000 stake money.

"I thought I was worth at least £100,000", he said.

When asked whether he would be betting for red or black he said: "I don't know, man. One of them is going to be the right thing to say and one is going to be the wrong thing."

He said that if he won he would probably pocket his winnings rather than spinning again.

Mr Revell said he had decided to take the plunge "while he was still young".

He said he was not being paid by Sky.

A Sky One documentary, Double or Nothing, will follow Mr Revell for a month after his big spin, win or lose.
