A controversial gambling bill could take tribal gaming in Oklahoma to a new level by allowing Class Three games.

Governor Henrys says by allowing some Class Three games, the state can regulate them and share the revenues.

Henry did emphasize that the games would be identified as Class Three for very limited purposes.

Class Three games include Las Vegas-style games such as roulette, blackjack and slot machines.

The only Class Three gambling currently allowed in Oklahoma is on pari-mutuel horse racing.

Oklahoma does allow bingo-type games for charitable purposes, which are Class Two under federal law.

Henry expressed doubts last week that the bill would make it through the process by the time the Legislature adjourns Friday.
