| 24 September 2009 |
LAS VEGAS, Sept. 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- With its worldwide membership now at 70, the Gaming Standards Association is about to embark on a global tour that will include major appearances at two key industry events.
First, GSA will have a stand at the South American Gaming & Amusement Expo & Congress (SAGSE). The event takes place September 30-October 2 in Buenos Aires at the Costa Salguero Convention Center. GSA will be in stand #12 and will discuss its award-winning protocol standards and their impact on global gaming operations.
While in South America, GSA President Peter DeRaedt will address Elcuentro Yogonet 09 on September 30. DeRaedt will join Bart Shuldman of TransAct Technologies and Carlos Sanz of Codere, S.A. on the panel, "GSA and the Tendency of Industry Protocols," answering questions of who is GSA and what has been and will be the impact of GSA standards.
Next DeRaedt will address the Asian Gaming Regulation and Investment Summit, on October 6. Held in Taipei, the summit is the region's only dedicated regulatory conference for gambling. DeRaedt will address the topic, "The Impact of Open Gaming Communication Standards."
Previewing the appearances, DeRaedt said, "Everywhere we go around the world, operators are telling us about their need for standards. Suppliers are making progress in moving standards forward in terms of creating devices and systems based on the standards, and regulators are making progress in adopting the standards to their jurisdictions. However, there is much more to be done, and the business future of the industry is reliant upon us not to be complacent at this critical time."
Most recently, the New South Wales Casino, Liquor and Gaming Control Authority authorized GSA's G2S protocol for use in New South Wales.
