How To Win $1million Dollars With a Great Business Plan - Casting Call For Hydra Executives
| 05 December 2007 |
Casting begins for the first international reality TV show Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at the Beverly Hilton, Beverly Hills. The show launch ceremony was held last week and airs in March 2008 on Showtime Arabia.
Sulaiman Al-Fahim, CEO of Hydra Properties LLC in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, came up with the concept of the show, to be called "The Hydra Executives." With $5 million in financing for the first season, Al-Fahim and partner Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and Chamber of Commerce want to bring American and British real estate industry hopefuls to Abu Dhabi to compete on air in executive boardroom contests similar to those seen in other reality TV shows like the "Apprentice," but this is the first involving three countries.
"This show will be a cut above the Trump show," Executive Producer Ziad Batal told BusinessWeek (Dec. 10, 2007).
All contestants get the opportunity to spend three months in Abu Dhabi, which has more millionaires than any other country in the world.

Casting begins on December 15 in Hollywood and will feature a cast of budding American and British entrepreneurs, who will be flown (travel/meals paid for) to Abu Dhabi, where the show will be filmed, but broadcast entirely in English.
The reality TV series is the brainchild of CEO Sulaiman Al-Fahim, Hydra Properties LLC, a leading Abu Dhabi-based international real estate company and the key backer of the show. Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and Chamber of Commerce and Industry are also sponsoring the show. According to Fahim around $5 million would be spent on the first season. The executive boardroom-style program is currently being shopped for global distribution in March 2008. It is being produced in association with Showtime Arabia, which is partly owned by Viacom, and Dubai's Infinity TV.
At the show's launch CEO Sulaiman Al Fahim said, "We are looking for 16 entrepreneurs, eight Americans and eight Brits, to compete against each other for 15 weeks in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Contestants will fly to the capital city of Abu Dhabi where they will spend their first two weeks in boot camp to learn the art of the real estate deal and how to identify various playing fields. Following this they will be split into two mixed teams to compete in real estate business assignments for a three month period." At the end of the competition one winner will walk away with the grand prize worth $1 million to set up his or her own style real estate venture.
