The gaming arena continues to be sparked by ongoing development in the Las Vegas market, which according to the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority generated $7.6 billion in gaming revenue during 2005. Dan Ahrens explains, “It is important to understand that gaming is still a growing industry. Las Vegas occupancy rates are very high, there is a great resurgence in table games and overall gaming revenues continue to grow.”

While domestically gaming has experienced increased participation, many companies have set their sights to new and expanding international markets. “The Far East is the real gold mine and Macau is just getting started. A number of U.S. gaming companies have great upside potential with these overseas markets. They are making overseas growth a priority.”

Mr. Ahrens sees online and mobile gaming progressively feeding people's overall appetite for gaming. ”Worldwide, online gaming is booming and when it comes to mobile gaming, handhelds and wireless, this has great potential.”

As global markets expand, increases in worldwide casino gaming revenues are expected to continue to grow. “I'm a big believer in the gaming industry. I think that everything is in place for gaming to outperform the rest of the market in the long run,” states Ahrens.
