Montour County Man Wins $1 Million from PA Lottery Instant Ticket
| 19 February 2010 |
DANVILLE, Pa., Feb. 18/PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Terry Artley of Danville, Montour County, won $1 million from the Pennsylvania Lottery's $1 Million Jolly Jackpot instant game.
Lottery Executive Director Ed Trees today presented a ceremonial check to Artley at Puff Discount Cigarette Inc. in Danville, where the ticket was purchased. The store will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Artley, a farmer at Pine Hurst Acres near Danville for the past 22 years, said he has no plans to leave his job and will continue to play Pennsylvania Lottery games.
"My wife of 25 years, Brenda, is really the reason why we won the money," said Mr. Artley. "I play the Lottery sometimes, but she plays regularly and actually picked the lucky ticket. She was so nervous she couldn't sign it, so I had to!"
"We know it's not enough money to retire with, but we are planning to build our dream house in Danville, and the rest will go to taking care of the family," said Mrs. Artley, who noted that they have two children and one grandchild.
$1 Million Jolly Jackpot is a $20 holiday instant game. Three of the four top prizes have been claimed, but one $1 million winning ticket is still available.
