MPs looking at quiz TV 'rip-offs'

The Commons culture committee is looking at whether more regulation of the industry is needed. MPs heard some shows enticed viewers to call in with easy questions for big prizes, without making clear only one in 200 calls get through. City of London Police are involved in an on-going fraud probe, the MPs heard. Phone regulator ICSTIS, the Gambling Commission and the broadcast regulator Ofcom are already looking at the issue.
