Pennsylvania Lottery Prizes Totaling $112,500 Soon to Expire
| 08 May 2012 |
MIDDLETOWN, Pa., May 7, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Time is running out for the holders of two Pennsylvania Lottery tickets - a Quinto mid-day ticket worth $50,000 from the May 21, 2011, drawing and a Cash 5 ticket worth $62,500 from the May 30, 2011, drawing - to claim their prizes.
The tickets and prizes will expire one year from the dates of the drawings.
"We don't want these two winners to miss out on their prizes," said Lottery Executive Director Todd Rucci. "We encourage our players in Montgomery and Beaver counties to check any tickets they may still have from last year."
The soon-to-expire Quinto mid-day ticket matched all five numbers in the order they were drawn, 1-1-2-9-3, for a top prize of $50,000, less federal withholding. It was sold at Smokings, 2894 Dekalb Pike, East Norriton, Montgomery County.
The soon-to-expire Cash 5 ticket correctly matched all five numbers drawn, 05-09-10-18-24, to win $62,500, less federal withholding. It was sold at Sheetz, 494 Adams St., Rochester, Beaver County.
The Pennsylvania Lottery encourages each ticket-holder to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County, or at any of Lottery's seven area offices. Claims may be filed at headquarters Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at area Lottery offices.
Unclaimed, expired lottery prizes remain in the Lottery Fund and are used to support programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians. Last fiscal year, the Pennsylvania Lottery contributed more than $51 million to programs that benefited older residents of Montgomery County and more than $17.3 million to programs serving Beaver County's older residents.
How to Play Quinto: To play Quinto, players pay $1 and select a five-digit number from 0 through 9, and the same number can be selected more than once within the same game. Players may select their own numbers using a Quinto play slip, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match the five numbers drawn in the exact order drawn to win the jackpot. There also are 12 additional ways to win a cash prize.
Quinto drawings are held twice daily, seven days a week.
How to play Cash 5: To play Cash 5, players pay $1 and select five numbers from 1 to 43. Players may select their own numbers using a Cash 5 playslip, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match all five numbers drawn to win the jackpot. Players also win prizes for matching two, three or four winning numbers. Cash 5 drawings are held seven nights a week, and tickets can be purchased up to seven draws (one week) in advance. Odds of winning the jackpot prize are 1-in-962,598; the overall odds of winning any prize are about 1-in-10.5.
