PokerRoom.com launches tournament leader boards

Toronto-based PokerRoom.com has launched an innovation to rank and reward poker players, the Ace of Aces and Centurion Cup leaderboards.

The Ace of Aces Leaderboard ranks players by most points across 12 scheduled, multi-table poker tournaments held each month and features a $5,000 first prize awarded to the number one ranking player on the leaderboard for the month. The 12 $150+12 tournaments are standard, stand-alone tournaments with the addition of the scoring system exclusive to the Ace of Aces tournaments. Player participation in the leaderboard is free and automatic, and each month provides players with a new opportunity to win first prize.

Lesser buy-in qualifiers are available. Players that perform exceptionally well will also win an opportunity to test their poker skills against top-ranking poker professionals by winning a spot with Team PokerRoom.com and entrance into the World Series of Poker.

The Centurion Cup is a weekly leaderboard based on 10-table Sit & Go Tournaments, which that are played as soon as the tournament fills up. They run 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Similar to the Ace of Aces Leaderboard, each performance in the tournaments will be scored and ranked. The top three players each week will win money from a bonus prize pool generated by a percentage of the fee paid by all entrants into Centurion Cup Tournaments. The top 10 players will be invited into a weekly winner-takes-all Coliseum Sit & Go Final, entitling the winner to a prize pool worth half the bonus prize pool money.
