NEW YORK, Aug. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Scientific Games Corporation (Nasdaq: SGMS) today announced its wholly-owned subsidiary Scientific Games International, Inc. has been awarded the contract for the design, implementation and administration of its next-generation Video Gaming Central Control System by the Illinois Gaming Board. Under the terms of the contract, Scientific Games will provide real-time communication and control between every licensed video gaming terminal in the state of Illinois on a 24 hours a day/7 days a week/365 days a year basis for the life of the contract. The contract was awarded through a competitive procurement process, has an initial term of six years and includes an additional four-year contract extension option.

Under legislation signed by Governor Quinn in 2009 every licensed video gaming terminal must be connected to a central communication system, which must be able to support up to 60,000 terminals in up to 15,000 locations.
