Tribe Makes Payment of $945,000 to Assist County With Emergency Services and Fire Protection

The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians Funds El Dorado County Emergency Medical Services and Fire Protection
SHINGLE SPRINGS, Calif., June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians made a payment of $472,500 to the El Dorado County Emergency Services Authority and $472,500 to the El Dorado County Fire District.

The tribe's contributions will support the delivery of emergency medical and fire protection services, including a new medic unit. Funding will also support the expansion of local fire station 28, serving the communities of Shingle Springs, South Cameron Estates and Red Hawk Casino.
As part of their Tribal/State gaming agreement, the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians made a commitment to contribute financial resources toward the support of El Dorado County emergency services and fire protection.
Since 2008, the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians has supported several county projects across the region with more than $15 million in funding.

The tribe seeks to honor and protect their territory and cultural heritage to benefit future generations.
