Youth Football Camp Taught by Top NFL Pro Bowl Players to Offer Youth and Displaced Hurricane Katrina Victims Camp Scholarships

The 2006 Pro Power Football Camp will offer Washington DC area youth and over 50 displaced youth of Hurricane Katrina full scholarships to participate in a week-long football camp taught by top NFL Pro Bowl players including Tony Dorsett (Dallas Cowboys / Hall of Fame 1994), Santana Moss (Washington Redskins), Clinton Portis (Washington Redskins), Shawne "Lights Out" Merriman (San Diego Chargers), Chad Johnson (Cincinnati Bengals) and 18 others. The camp, schedule to be held July 10-14, 2006 at Wootten High School in Rockville, Maryland, will offer youth ages 7-17 the unique opportunity to learn football directly from the pros.
Presented by M&B Sports Marketing, LLC, the 2006 Pro Power Football Camp is a unique football program that includes a junior and senior track with age appropriate activities lead by a team of NFL Pro Bowl players and area coaches. The first of its kind, the Pro Power Football camp will offer participants the experience of offensive/defensive/special teams position drills, 7-on-7 drills and 5-on-5 games, graded skill evaluations, skills testing and a NFL style combine which will be video taped for the players to take home upon completion. To reinforce instruction on football skills, participating NFL pros and the coaching staff will provide campers daily sessions on health, nutrition, fitness, and life management issues.

The 2006 session will enlist the assistance of camp spokespersons Shawne "Lights Out" Merriman (San Diego Charger) Clinton Portis (Washington Redskins) and Chad Johnson (Cincinnati Bengals) along with NFL greats Tony Dorsett (Dallas Cowboys / Hall of Fame 1994), Santana Moss (Washington Redskins), Antonio Gates (San Diego Chargers), Larry Johnson (Kansas City Chiefs), Marvin Harrison (Indianapolis Colts), Byron Leftwich (Jacksonville Jaguars), DeAngelo Hall (Atlanta Falcons), Sean Taylor (Washington Redskins), Ronnie Brown (Miami Dolphins), Takeo Spikes (Buffalo Bills), Carlos Rogers (Washington Redskins), Derrick Dockery (Washington Redskins), Randy Thomas (Washington Redskins), Thomas Davis (Carolina Panthers), Kerry Rhodes (New York Jets) and Eric King (Buffalo Bills).
With the support of a growing list of corporate sponsors, the camp will offer full scholarships to deserving area youth and will host more than 50 youth displaced by Hurricane Katrina and who have been temporarily relocated to the Washington DC area. Sponsors for the 2006 Pro Power Football camp include local organizations and business such as Victims Rights Foundation and Bethesda Marriott.
