Planet Hollywood is a successful theme restaurant that was inspired by some of the hottest Hollywood celebrities of the day. It got its start in the late 1980s when Robert Earl, former president of the Hard Rock Café, decided to bring the same type of glamour to a restaurant, only with bigger names. To help see his vision through, Earl sought the help of big-name Hollywood investors, namely Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Upon opening the flagship location in 1991, Planet Hollywood resembled Hard Rock so much that Earl was sued and subsequently forced to offer the stock of the restaurant to its celebrity investors, who then gladly assumed the role of owners. The Planet was an instant success, and wishing to capitalize on its fame, the celebrities teamed with business aficionados and began opening locations around the globe. Unfortunately, the mega branding of the restaurant wasn't a success.
The Planet Hollywood restaurants have gone bankrupt twice and have been one of the market's most fluctuating commodities. By the year 2000, Arnold had terminated his ties with the line. However, even with the restaurant line failing to keep a steady head of steam, investors planned to move into the casino business.
In November of 2007, Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino opened in Las Vegas, replacing the Aladdin Hotel and Casino. Planet Hollywood, experiencing massive success from this venture, partnered with Westgate Resorts and have built the Planet Hollywood Towers: a 52-story luxury condominium tower with more than 1,200 units.

The Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino boasts an impressive 2,500 luxurious rooms for its many guests. Every new casino venture in Vegas is larger than the next. The grand scale of Planet Hollywood is one of Sin City's most lavish resorts, and contradicting the brand's fame elsewhere, its Vegas location is always packed.
The rooms are a mix of regular guest rooms - akin to modern rooms in average hotels - and large luxury suites. The regular rooms are nice, although not overly lavish, and feature plush, comfortable beds, wet bars, large bathrooms, great views, a clean atmosphere, room service, and much more. There's also a privacy factor. Planet Hollywood doesn't have the “thin wall” problem that a lot of major hotels have.
The luxury rooms are truly spectacular, featuring marble bathrooms with private soaking tubs and separate showers, rooftop swimming pools, large seating area with state-of-the-art entertainment like big-screen TVs and more, like hi-speed internet access, two phone lines, and much more. There are also a series of unique, centralized elevators to take guests to and from their rooms, so no one has to carry their luggage down hallways.
The layout of the hotel area is quite convenient for guests. Planet Hollywood didn't change much of the layout after taking over the Aladdin. Guests still get the luxury of avoiding the casino when going to their rooms. Each destination within the resort is wholly separate from the other, but still easy to access. As with most hotels, guests here can receive complimentary valet parking, and guests of luxury suites have access to the Elemis Spa.

Las Vegas is known as the world's main hub of gambling. As such, people from every corner of the globe visit locations like Planet Hollywood to partake in the best that Sin City has to offer. Winner or loser, every person has one thing in common: They need to eat. The Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino boasts over 25 impressive restaurants and shops that feature food from a variety of ethic backgrounds.
Lovers of Italian food can enjoy a wide selection offered by a handful of award-winning restaurants within the perimeter of Planet Hollywood. You have Alfredo of Rome, serving fine, classical Italian cuisine; Aromi D' Italia, located on the Miracle Mile, is also Italian fine dining at its best; and also on the Miracle Mile, Lombardi's Romagna Mia is a great choice.
For the bar and grill connoisseurs, you have even more selections available: Hawaiian Tropic Zone serves classic Americana; Blondies Las Vegas is the go-to place for pub food; Cheeseburger Las Vegas, living up to its name, is the place for a burger; Tacone Flavor Grill & Daiquiri Bar is a nice mix of food-slash-drink; and Trader Vic's is a world famous bar & grill location.
There are also Japanese, Chinese and Brazilian restaurants - Koi, P.F. Chang's China Bistro, and Pampas Churrascaria Brazillian Grille, respectively - and even a few all-dessert and coffee shops like Starbucks, Nestle Tollhouse Café, Planet Dailies and Ben & Jerry's. Of course, you'll also find other restaurants like buffets and Mexican cuisine and more. You'll never go hungry.

The actual gaming area of the Planet Hollywood Casino is around three acres. Needless to say, the place can really pack the gamblers in. When it was still the Aladdin, the casino was lavish and state-of-the-art, but after a Hollywood makeover, the whole “futuristic Vegas” bug bit, and once-lavish has become over-the-top extravagant. When you first step foot into the casino, it resembles Times Square with the many bright LED screens.
Planet Hollywood's restaurants display a pop-culture, semi-cheesy décor, but the casino is pure class. A lot of planning has gone into the intricate design of even the smallest detail. The large, open main floor of the casino features a plethora of slot machines and a few gaming tables. Everything else, however, is broken down into rooms. You have a Poker Room, a High Limit Casino, The Pleasure Pit, and a Playing Field Race & Sports Book section.
The Poker Room is comprised of 15 tables that allow players to enter cash games of $2-4 up to $10-20 games like Texas Hold'em, Pineapple, Omaha, and more. The High Limit Casio is more of an upscale gaming environment, featuring high-limit games like baccarat, blackjack and roulette. It's the VIP section of the casino, roped off in velvet. The Pleasure Pit is a go-go club-meets-casino room. Beautiful dealers control the blackjack and roulette tables while go-go dancers provide visual entertainment.
In The Playing Field section, over 30 plasma TVs, jumbo screens and a VIP area allow betters to participate in racing and sporting events. There's a full bar in this section, along with reserved seating and individual TVs in the VIP.

What would Vegas be without tons of entertainment to keep you on the edge of your seat? Planet Hollywood is well-known for their variety of shows and activities. There are over a dozen different shows happening at the casino at any given time. For starters, you have the casino mainstay, Chi Showroom, offering adult entertainment in the form of Peepshow. Peepshow stars former Spice Girl Mel B and the gorgeous Kelly Monaco, along with 25 other dancers, performing a Broadwayesque show.
At the Harmon Theater, you have quite a few choices, including Magic's a Drag and the Amazing Jonathan to keep you entertained. Planet Hollywood also boasts the Official Basketball Hall of Fame Exhibition. This 17-thousand square-foot interactive display combines the old school with the new and takes the HOF out of Springfield, MA, and gives it a Vegas upgrade.
Visitors of Planet Hollywood can also see the second-longest-running Off-Broadway show in history, Tony n' Tina's Wedding. This satire of an Italian-American wedding requires the audiences participation and is always a smash hit. The show is totally interactive, inviting you to participate in both the wedding and reception. As an incentive, you'll even break bread with the mock-bride and groom in an Italian buffet dinner.
There are also plenty of other on-again-off-again and indefinite shows ranging from comedy to variety and everything in between. Plenty of shopping centers and spas and gyms can also provide entertainment if you're not the show-going type.

The word amenity is from the Latin amoenitat, meaning pleasant. For the guests at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, the pleasantries are never in short supply. The resort has plenty of amenities to satisfy even the pickiest guest, including spas, pools, shops, and various aerobic classes.
The Elemis Spa is an all-inclusive spa service offering some of the best facials, massage therapy, custom spray-tanning, teeth whitening, hair and nail salons, makeup departments, and fitness centers in the entire city. You can also beat the heat if the desert is too much for you. Just dive into the pool - or better yet, if you're a guest in the luxury suites, walk out onto the roof and take a swim in style. You can also relax in one of the steam rooms or Jacuzzis on location.
Although there are plenty of other avenues a woman can take to burn off those buffet calories at one of Planet Hollywood's spas, the unique Stripper 101 is always one of the more popular methods. Stripper 101 is a low-impact aerobic workout for women who want to learn the erotic art of striptease and pole dancing while staying in tip-top shape.
The Miracle Mile in Planet Hollywood truly lives up to its name for the men and women who love to splurge on luxury items. There are 170 of the world's biggest-named retailers available in the shops, and that's just in one location. Throughout the resort, you'll find other shopping venues featuring more opportunities to max out your credit card.

Las Vegas is renowned for being the go-to place for various celebrations, including bachelor parties, New Year's Eve, 21st birthdays, engagements (often the wedding taking place immediately afterward), and many, many more “special” occasions. However, it's not always about the fun and games in Planet Hollywood's Resort. They have a large portion of their property dedicated to the business professionals of the world. Although, if business professionals are coming to Vegas, they want to let their hair down, too, so the facilities aren't far removed from the action.
Inside of the hotel, there is a very wide range of meeting and conference rooms that are able to hold up to 2000 delegates comfortably; most hold anywhere from 10 to 500 people. These rooms can be found inside the 75,000 square-foot conference center. There are also many services offered to business professionals in order to keep them connected with the outside world while they kick back and enjoy the fun.
The Business Centre of Planet Hollywood offers office supplies, phone rentals, notary services, internet and computer rentals, printing and photocopying and other services, and even shipping and receiving. The hotel acts as your personal assistant.
