THE PALACE OF THE LOST CITY

The Palace of the Lost City at Sun City is one of the most enticing travellers' destinations in the world, a tribute to man's imagination and revered for its art and architecture. Fabled to be the royal residence of an ancient king, it is truly one of the 'Worlds Leading Hotels". The Palace lavishes its guests with 5-star service, and is luxurious in every facet of its fabulous architecture and décor.

Surrounding the hotel is a 25 hectare botanical jungle. The jungle is threaded with meandering paths, cascades, lakes and pools and a variety of water-borne adventure rides.

The Palace has 338 rooms inclusive of four deluxe suites.

CASCADES

Lush gardens, tropical birds and water features give The Cascades its sophistication and elegance. The Cascades has a total of 243 rooms and offers a wide choice of rooms and suites. The Garden Suite is an idyllic private enclave with its own swimming pool and jacuzzi in a secluded terrace.

The Cascades Hotel will commence with a multi-million Rand refurbishment project from the 19 May 2003 and is scheduled for completion at the end of July 2004. In total, 239 rooms will be refurbished. The number of rooms that will be out of commission per week may vary ensuring that guests are not inconvenienced by the revamp.

In the standard and family rooms, the entire bathroom will be reconstructed and enlarged. A separate large shower cubicle makes for a more intimate and private experience and the separate bath is the ideal place to unwind.

The luxury rooms at the Cascades Hotel get superior treatment and each room will have the added distinction of having their own dressing room with built in dressing table, cupboards and shoe racks. The bathrooms will have double vanity units and be somewhat larger than the standard bathrooms.

THE SUN CITY HOTEL

Overlooking the internationally acclaimed Gary Player Golf Course, the Sun City Hotel is home to the Sun City Casino. The ambience of the hotel is one of glamorous sophistication tastefully combined with magical fantasy.

The hotel's view comprises a magnificent landscape of subtropical gardens and a sparkling swimming pool. It has a total of 340 rooms, which either face the Gary Player Golf Course, or pool area, with gardens stretching down to Sun City's exciting Waterworld.

SUN CITY CABANAS

The most relaxed and casual of all Sun City's hotels, the Sun City Cabanas opens onto lush gardens leading down to the lake and Waterworld. The Sun City Cabanas has a total of 380 rooms.

The Sun City Cabanas are built on two levels with rooms on the ground floor and first floors. The rooms are located in seven "blocks" situated around the main reception and restaurant area.

The Crystal Court

Exquisitely prepared international cuisine, the Crystal Court is surrounded by towering floor-to-ceiling windows, providing an excellent view of the tropical jungle and shimmering waters. Breakfast and dinner served, as well as traditional High Tea with classical music.

Villa del Palazzo

Classic regional Italian cuisine is the speciality of this magnificent waterside restaurant, overlooking the spectacular Palace pool. The cuisine emphasis is on subtle elegance with regard to presentation, freshness and taste. Items such as, freshly made Mozzarella, Semolina pastas, authentic Parma Ham and delicious Tartuffos, Gelatos and Pastelles are made and served by personally selected chefs and Chef de Ranges. Dinner is served nightly.

To the left of the Atrium is the Tusk Bar with its lounge and terrace which overlooks the Valley of the Ancients and the middle lake. Hand-carved teak tusks soar above this beautifully designed lounge to provide a casual and relaxed atmosphere for drinks. There is live piano music in the evenings. A gourmet buffet lunch is served daily from 12h30 to 14h30 and a light snack menu is available until 18h00.

The Sun City Casino, situated in the Sun City Hotel, is open 365 days of the year. The tables open for play at 13h00 (midweek) and 11h00 (weekends) until close in the early hours of the following morning. The dress code in the casino is smart-casual.

The Sun City School of Gaming is pleased to be able to offer free lessons in the skills and etiquette of all our Casino Table Games. Lessons must be booked a minimum of 48 hours in advance through the Casino MVG desk. Groups over 10 people are by special arrangement with the Casino Management and must be booked one week in advance.

There are special 'Casino Fun Evening' packages available for conference groups, which may be booked through the conference organiser and take place Monday to Thursday by prior arrangement.

CHILDRENS ENTERTAINMENT - SUN CITY

Stimela

Sun City has a new addition to fun activities for little ones and adults alike, a colourful little train called Stimela. The Stimela station is situated opposite Kamp Kwena on the Cabanas Hotel's lawns. The train is operational from 9:00 to 18:00 every day. Tickets can be purchased at Finders Keepers, situated next to Kamp Kwena. The Stimela experience consists of a scenic ride through Animal World and passing the Waterworld lake.

Kamp Kwena

Kamp Kwena is a place especially for children where they can make a friend and learn something new, where the days are an adventure and always too short. Supervised activity programme for all young Sun City Guests ranging from age 2-12 (during our seasonal period) and for children aged 4-12 (during our out-season period).

The Kamp Kwena facility is open daily, activities keep kids interested, involved and stimulated. The Kamp Kwena Fort is based at the Cabanas children's activities park. Facilities for kids at the activity park include African Adventure Mini Golf and Mini Cars, Trampolines, Animal World, playground and Waterworld.

The Hall of Treasures Exhibition Centre

A versatile and flexible venue, suitable for cocktail parties, finger/fork lunches or themed dinners. Maximum exhibition stands 25 (3x2m) stands. The Hall of Treasures is seemingly carved out of the rock face with a fibre-optic starscape ceiling, creating a dramatic ambience.

The Hall of Treasures has a multi-functional 1 250 square metre floor area. It comprises two separate areas each 740 square metres and 510 square metres respectively. The lower section can accommodate 410 delegates at a banquet dinner.

The Superbowl

The largest conference area at Sun City with a capacity for 6 000 seated delegates is provided for on two levels. This indoor auditorium has the finest lighting and sound equipment in Africa. An excellent platform for; superstar performers, major international sporting events, exhibitions, beauty pageants, conventions and banquets. Banquets of up to 1350 people for dinner can be accommodated.

The Superbowl is an octagonally shaped arena with a portable stage and is constructed of wood and built in modules measuring 2m x 1m x 1,5m high. The house curtain is a heavy maroon velour and is electronically operated. Access to the stage and dressing rooms is from the back of house. The auditorium can be carpeted.
