It’s 2011 and a new year means a new range of games which go by the label of 3D slots. Crazy Jewelry is one of these and my first impression when the introduction video loaded was a great big WOW. The amount of effort gone into making the video must have been a lot and it shows because the animation and the sound is incredible.

This intro really sets up the game and gives you background on the characters and the story behind the game.

So once you’ve calmed down from the spectacle, this is a 5 reel video slot machine with 20 paylines. The symbols are wonderfully animated and there are a lot of animated actions that happen on winning combos and when the thief comes along on the middle reel. Incidentally this is also an expanding wild when this happens.

This is a progressive machine and there is one bonus feature to look out for, which is triggered when you hit the 3 Jeweller symbols on an active payline.

In the bonus game you simply have to select jewels from the tray to earn prizes. The catch here is that some of these are fake and will break when the jeweller tests them. If you can get 4 of the same color, you’ll win additional prizes. There is varying difficulty in that the diamonds are more expensive and therefore have more fakes within them.

To summarize, the graphics are amazing, however the game itself is still just a standard video slot machine. In our testing we found that it sometimes froze and we had to restart the game, perhaps this issue will get ironed out in later releases. Overall, I liked it, only because the theme and 3D graphics are engaging for me to keep spinning the reels. Give it a go yourself and see what you think.
